      <image:title>About Me</image:title>
<image:caption>I provide individual counseling for those struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, anger, trauma, grief, self-esteem, self-confidence, adjustment issues, relationship and family issues, social and communication skills, OCD, school and occupational problems, and ADHD. Throughout our therapeutic relationship, a variety of therapeutic modalities may be utilized as needed such as cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, mindfulness techniques, coping and calming strategies, psycho-education, narrative therapy, and art therapy to encourage a sense of self-empowerment, self-value, and self-efficacy. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. I then obtained my Professional Certification in Elementary Education, focusing on creating a risk-free environment for learning, meeting the unique social and academic needs of each child, helping students build positive self-concepts, and guiding and supporting families. I also gained experience as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor helping clients to develop and implement independent life skills and strategies. I earned my Master of Science degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. While completing my supervision hours, I worked at a thriving private practice gaining invaluable and various experiences with individuals, couples, and families. Once licensure was obtained the end of 2017, I opened my own private practice the beginning of 2018. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, the Mental Health Counselors of Central Florida, and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Through empathy and compassion, I strive to gain a thorough understanding of each client's specific context and unique/authentic perspective, and view each counseling relationship as a collaborative endeavor. My academic, professional, and personal life experiences have provided me the strong foundation, knowledge, skills, and insights needed to effectively help my clients, and I genuinely value each therapeutic relationship. ~ Jennifer Paige Carnes, LMHC License: MH15555</image:caption>
